In order for the military industrial complex to make money - aka Bush sr and the Carlye group amongst others - There must be a perpetual state of war -
Bush will likely attack Iran with nuclear force
But before he does this he will need Iran to "do" somthing
It would be convient to Bush jr if an attack were to happen as all the Executive Orders that have been passed into law would take effect should an "emergency occur" Read Executive Order 51 twined with Homeland Secuity's Directive 51
Should anything happen that would allow Bush to declare military law and blame Iran - A massive strike of nuclear pre-emtive force would suddenly become "justified"
The Nuclear posture review - states that because of the rise of terror the President must have the ability to strike at threats to the US with nuclear force wether or not they have nukes themselves -
Before the law change this would have required Congress and so on - But now as a result of 9/11 Bush can respond without that
That said a conventional war with Iran is out of the question

do not take this as a personal offense, but you need to shut up cause you don't know anything about IR
Iran having nuclear weapons means jack directly for the US. Even if Iran had the capabilities of firing on the US, which they don't, they would have no reason to do so (hedonistic calculus would not work in their interest--they would have their a** kicked). Israel has some qualms about Iran getting the bomb but again Israel has the bomb themselves and knows that Iran would be unable to strike Israel without severe retaliation from Israel and the US (this kinda like the same dynamic between North Korea and Japan).
The real people who don't want Iran to get the bomb is Saudi Arabia and the other gulf states. for a variety of reasons i am too lazy to type...

There is no war with Iran. Mr. Bush and his administration did not screw up anything in Iraq. They all are doing a good job.
The Chinese persuaded the North Koreans to drop their nuclear weapons plans, in exchange for food.
The best tools to defeat ignorance are education and experience. I think you need some of both.

I think we're getting ahead of ourselves with a statement like that. I say that because I personally like to take things one step at a time, and we seem to have both feet firmly planted in (a big, steaming pile) of Iraq right now...up to our necks.
I know he just said that we could start removing troops soon, if we continue to progress. Um...continue to WHAT? I hated the whole Iraq thing from the start, but does he really think anyone believes troops are coming home soon? WHERE is this progress? He sounded to me, like a used car salesman. He's trying to schmooze the country...AGAIN. Now...I understand that if we leave now, the insurgents will take over, but if we know (even approximately) where the hundreds of them are...why haven't we gone THERE, rather than sitting on Iraq and waiting for them to come in groups of 10? Why haven't we hunted them down OUTSIDE of Iraq, thereby stopping the problem before it starts? They SAY they're growing stronger. If they know this...then they apparently know where these stronger groups are training...at least respectively. I know the 'enemy' is really doing some damage, but how we're allowing car bombing desert hillbillies to continue killing people 50 at a shot just amazes me (and yes...I'm speaking specifically about those Muslims who are a part of the insurgency...not all Muslims).

If he is still in office, sure. As long as his buddy ******** is still getting residual kickbacks from his company Haliburton, Georgie will get kickbacks too. If we have to go into Iran before he gets out of office, I am sure Dickie and GW's brothers will come up with another plan like 9/11 to get the people thinking it was another terrorist plot, the move in in force, just like Iraq. In my opinion, the entire Bush family is a dysfunctional one.

what war with iran...im not aware we have any and why in your mind is that a foregone conclusion. and the only screw up in the iraq conflict is the grandstanding and dogma from the pelosi;reid regime. for some reason pelosi wasnt prosecuted under the logan act for that ridiculous stunt in syria but she should have been....burying your head in the sand with a cry of unilateral surrender doesnt support your army, it emboldens the enemy. why liberals cant understand that truly baffles me.

I think their excuse for wanting to attack Iran is the cutest thing I have heard in years!!! Taking Iraq down made Iran the strongest power in the Middle East. Wow, who'd have ever thought that would happen. So naturally they have to take Iran down now. Hey, Hitler was deluded enough to think he could take down the USSR while he was still occupied with western Europe. So assuming that we get a different result in attacking Iran from what Hitler got attacking the USSR, then who is the strongest power in the Middle East? Pakistan, I guess. Pakistan would have to be taken down after Iran. And after Pakistan...hmmm...Egypt? Syria? Its infallible reasoning, isn't it? Enjoy the show.

No -- he won't start it. He can't even finish Iraq and Afghanistan in 2 more years, what makes you think he would A) start another war and B) that congress would approve it?
Congress could easily overturn any more war spending for another war without fear of looking like they don't support troops in a war zone because no troops would yet be in that war zone (Iran).

Who knows? But I never thought he'd really attack Iraq. Then I though, surely he won't send troops. Everyone that knew anything about that area knew what would happen. But he did, so I wouldn't put Iran past him.
