I'm only 14, but I had cancer when I was 4 (A wilms tumor that spread to my lungs, liver, lymph nodes and bone marrow). The chemo kinda messed up the left side of my body. I get normal periods, but when I get them I only get cramps on my left side. Does that mean that my right ovary isn't functioning? Can you still get pregnant with only one ovary?

I've always wanted to have a big family when I get married, so it's really depressing to think that I may never be able to.

Wow! What a survivor!!!
Don't worry about this.....I have a feeling you'll get pregnant and have your big family with no problems...
However, if you do need a little help from a doctor, they have pills to help you ovulate...don't worry about it.
Enjoy being a teenager.

U should talk to a doctor about your concerns. Even though u are still young it is okay to think about this stuff now. Women can get pregnant with one ovary if that would happen to be your case.

i don't know about whether your right ovaryis wokring or not but yes you can get pregnant with one ovary.
A few years ago a woman donated one of her ovaries to her identical twin sister who had early menopause. Both of them have one ovary now and both of them were able to have children afterwards.

You're probably ovulating out of the ovary that is causing you the cramping. I wouldn't worry about it at all.
