this is a difficult one.... i think that we have to remember they are referring to an embryo not a fetus...in a female pregnancy the pre embryo becomes an embryo at about 12-14 days after conception, at this stage it is a very small blob of undifferentiated tissue, 14 days after that and it is still only the size of a pencil point, and i think it is at this stage that they have to destroy it...it isn't yet a fetus and it doesn't have a nervous system...an embryo btw becomes a fetus at 10 weeks.

I really don't know where i stand on this as yet....but i do know its preferable to experimenting on helpless animals, abusing torturing and keeping them in the most unnatural environment where they are scared to death, put through horrendous pain and eventually euthanized if the experiments haven't already killed them...

so yes...i think my choice if we had to experiment to help sufferers of awful diseases, would be to experiment on tissue that had no thought or feeling and wasn't yet considered a life...although when does life begin is another debate entirely.

Funny, science is why you are live today and living in the condition you are, to say nothing of being able to express your ideas on a computer network worldwide. You must not hate science very much.

You didn't say why you object to this practice so it is difficult to answer what seems to be a purely emotional reaction to a scientific procedure which cause no harm to either animal or human but can possibly be used to cure dreadful diseases.

do you know of anyone with a terminal illness? If a doctor walked up to you and said you are going to die in six months and there is nothing that can be done about it we donot have the resources or the right equipment in the whole intire world to help u. because some person wouldn t allow experiments so that we could help others like yourself .......... NEED TO KEEP AN OPEN MIND SCIENCE HAS GOTTEN US ALOT OF MEDICAL HELP AND THERE IS STILL MORE THAT SCIENCE CAN DO FOR US IF WE ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN
