If you are only looking to claim your car and minor injuries, you don't need a lawyer. Your carrier will cover your medical expenses under your own PIP coverage (Personal Injury Protection) and them get reimbursed by the other person's insurance. First, call your insurance to notify them of the accident, they will issue a claim #. Second, get the police report and send it to your insurance. They will send out someone to look at your car.

You do not need a lawyer. You DO need to see a doctor to get checked out. It might seem like minor injuries, but it could be something more serious. If it does turn out just to be minor, there is usually no need for a lawyer. The other person's insurance company should be reasonable in handling things. If they do not take care of you... that is when you get a lawyer.

You do not need a lawyer. You should see a doctor and have your neck and back checked out. Frequently whiplash injuries don't really manifest themselves until muscle spasms tighten up your neck and you have difficulty moving.
If you find, in six months, that you had a significant injury, you can then consider hiring a lawyer.

You only need a lawyer if you WANT something out of the other driver. In a couple days you may be hurting badly. Or not. If all you want is your car repaired, I'm sure the insurance will take care of it. If you want more, the insurance company isn't likely to give you a windfall, and that's where one of those cheesy attorneys who do tv ads comes in to get you a little more money.

Get a lawyer if you intend to sue (ie: if his insurance refuses to pay). If the damage is not substantal and the injuries are minor, the insurance company should cover the costs. You don't need a lawyer.
