In all honesty,I don't think the song has much of a message.Over the yrs people try to put their own spin on it.

The song is rumored to be about drug use.

its supposed to be like "heres to my sweet satan, who gave them 666" or something like that. but i don't believe that scam. stairway to heaven is a great song.
