I know this may sound strange, but should I sit Bush in favor of playing Tatum Bell (Lions)? Bell is starting, with Kevin Jones out for 6 weeks, and shouldnt share carries like Bush will. New Orleans plays Indy Defense and Lions are up against crappy Oakland.
Am I stupid to be considering this?
Maybe I should trade Bell. I have Berrian and Foster as backups also, since Bell should have some fantasy value in the first 6 weeks.

You should start Bush because Indy's running D was bad last year. Plus Indy lost alot of key players so it can only get worst. Not only that, the Saint's will find a way to make Reggie be an impact in the game, he's the golden boy over there. Don't underestimate Oakland's D either, they had a top 5 defense last year, only the offense that held them back.

Indy versus New Orleans has all the makings of a shoot-out on national TV. And, Bush will be one of Brees' top targets. He's listed as a running back, but he may have more receptions than carries this year. He's also going to be used a lot at the goal line and in the red zone.
Oakland was one of the top defenses last year. They just didn't make that many spectacular, point-scoring plays. But, they limited the other teams both in yards and points rather effectively. They just couldn't score themselves, which is why they lost so many times.
Bush is a must-start this weekend against any team, particularly Indy.

I am a Lions fan. Have been for my whole life. I learned a long time ago to never, never, ever put faith in anyone in a Lions uniform unless it is #20 Barry Sanders.
Start Bush, he's more likely to score. Lions running game didn't show much spark during preseason, and last year they had the worst team rushing average in the entire league. I'd wait to see what Bell does in the first game before starting him over Bush. Indy had the one of the worst rush defenses last year also, and I don't know if they've improved or not.
Just my outlook on it.

By the players you have and seeing that a player as Bush is available in the free agent pool I guess it is a small league probably 6 teams? But to answer your question it depends on the scoring format, if your league is a PPR league and specially if it rewards a point or more per reception the I would go for Bush but if your league favors rushers then I would go for Smith. If you measure up the two players Kevin Smith will get the bulk of the load in carries for the Lions the Saints will give the majority of the carries to Pierre Thomas, Bush will be more of a specialty back.

Don't sit Bush. Indy's D was horrible against the run for most of the year last year. They didn't make any big upgrades, so expect more of the same this year. Bush is a must start for week 1. If a few weeks go by and hes just not performing then you can think about sitting him, but for now hes a must start.

If Reggie Bush can get 80+ yards and a touchdown on a playoff caliber Bears defense, he will produce against a depleted Colts defense. Stick with Bush.

I would not bench Bush. He is a fantastic offensive weapon. Tatum Bell isn't nearly the same value, plus Detroit will throw the ball a lot.

I'd go with Bush, don't forget that he's the punt returner and can get points that way too, he's also a good receiver and can score that way easy.
