Ever had a philly cheesesteak stuffed baked potato? I'm thinking of making them for game day- sound good?
Just a regular baked potato, split open with a little butter and cream cheese, then topped with philly beef, grilled peppers and provalone. Do you think I can pull it off? :)

I'm trying to come up with game day food that's a bit more interesting than the usual chilli, bbq, wings and queso things we usually have. Any unique suggestions for tail gate food (served at home) WELCOME!

TYPO, I meant to say sour cream, not cream cheese. But now I'm thinking mayo instead of either, don't you think?

Thanks for the encouragement. I am going to give it a try!

They sound yummy! I'm going to steal this idea! Hope you don't mind. :-)

My favorite at-home tailgate food is pizza cups. It just frozen biscuit dough squished into a muffin pan (the crust) then filled with pizza sauce mixed with hamburger, sasuage, and/or veggies, bake for 20 minutes, top with cheese, bake 5 more minutes, cool and serve!

Actually, the cream cheese blended with a bit of sour cream (half and half maybe?) to make the thing a bit creamy- in addition to topping it with the provolone sound great! The mayo might be a bit to rich.
I suppose a healthier alternative would be yogurt, but it may change the taste....
All in all, it sounds like you have hit on a winner! As for football.......I live in Indiana......GO COLTS!!!!

feels like a solid blend....what time is the sport? Ham Delights are good and have served my team at many a tailgating: a million Pkg of Dinner Rolls slice the completed kit in the direction of the middle so as which you finally end up with a superb area and a backside area. unfold backside with mustard, then good with slices of ham and swiss cheese. unfold mayonaise and sprinkle good a million/2 with poppy seeds. place the best layer on good of the backside layer. Microwave for 30 seconds to a million minutes till the cheese is melted, then cut back the rolls into person sandwiches.

We stuff them with BBQ here in the south... but I bet philly cheese steak wouldn't be that bad.

Doesn't really do it for me, really Philly cheese steaks are put on bread because they bread soaks up the nasty grease and then tastes amazing, potatoes just don't have the absorption to handle it.
