Ric Flair Quits WWE

Ric Flair has put in his notice to the WWE. He wants to quit because he feels that the WWE hasn't used him properly.

Not Drug Related

Before we start, we want to make it clear that the Ric Flair situation is not related to the recent mass suspensions of WWE wrestlers who bought drugs from an online pharmacy.

Ric Flair was not named in the federal probe.

Not That Guy

Reports earlier this weekend stated that a top level WWE star had given his notice. The reported stated that the person who had given his notice was a top level Raw superstars. Ric Flair works on Smackdown.

Unhappy

Ric Flair basically gave his notice because he's unhappy with the way the WWE has been using him. There are those who believe that he wasn't too happy about being moved from the Raw brand to the Smackdown brand.

The former leader of the Four Horsemen stable was also unhappy with the lack of communication from management in regards to his situation.

It's interesting to note that Smackdown head writer Michael Hayes was very adamant about getting Ric Flair over to his brand because he wanted to harness the strength of the future Hall of Famers mic skills.

Since Smackdown

Since coming over to the Smackdown brand, Ric Flair hasn't really been used all that much. When he is used, he's basically just an extra in Batista's storyline.

Another thing to note is that a character like Hornswoggle making a mockery of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship gets more television time than a multiple time world champion (including two reigns in the WWE).

When you factor all of that in, it's really not that hard to see why Ric Flair would be upset with his current status in the WWE.

Suitable Role

A good role for Ric Flair would be similar to the one that Finlay has. Finlay is basically the veteran that the writers turn to whenever they need someone to help make the younger inexperienced wrestlers look good in matches. He's also used occasionally as a main eventer.

TNA

TNA is said to be well aware of the situation going on in the WWE with Ric Flair. They would more than likely be willing to shell out some money for Ric Flair, especially since they need a big debut for when they finally get their second hour later on this fall.

The easier TNA schedule would work well for Ric Flair. Plus, Ric Flair's presence and mic skills would do wonders for TNA's credibility.

Closing Thoughts

The WWE is said to be working pretty hard at settling this situation. They definitely don't want Ric Flair to leave. Deep down inside, Ric Flair probably doesn't want to leave either.

Despite his age, Ric Flair can still be a tremendous asset to the WWE. It's a shame that it might end this way. TY Good Day!! My man..hehe ty

He's perhaps in a situation reminescent of Chris Benoit's. You know, his wife and children etc. Edward Guerrero had problems with his famility too, at one point. Third Ric might be afraid to be caught by the wellness policy. Fourth, he obviously wants to win the nwa title one last time before his retirement. And fifth, he doesn't like the Four Bikemen! :)

As sad as it is, it may be a good thing. Flair's getting up there in age. Retire now before he sustains a serious injury that would've been triggered by age.

I think its a smart move because he was like in his 50's or 60's and should retire so that maybe this year or next year he could be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.

Something I never thought would've happened, Flair is a lot of things but I never would've thought he would walk out on WWE. Maybe they gave him that treatment and lack of respect because he was a "WCW" guy, who knows

I'm surprised. He seems like the kind of person who doesn't quit that easily. I mean look how old the guy is. You think he'd retire to Malibu by now...

he would have to retire soo anyway.

I just think he should have waited a bit, maybe go out on top.

He will always be considred one of the greatest, and that's all that really counts.
