I have a dell with the 6800 all these are Nvidia cards: 6800, 7600 , 7800 7900 7950 all of those are 256mb of ram or higher. I would use 2 gigs of ram and a 7200 rpm hard drive for the games. Got a cooling pad for the notebook also. Most can run off USB power. As for CPU make sure you have a good L2 cache on them and usually something over 2.0 . I hope this helps.

I think you should get the XPS Gaming Laptop. It lets you build your own by phone, and you can choose what ever parts that are good. I recommend doing some research on the Laptop models of some graphics cards first. But, the Laptop is starting at $2,029. So, it would be expensive, and you must have the money. It's the best laptop though. If you want to have a good laptop for $1,000 i guess, go for dell or sony. Find which graphics card does it have too. Good day!

The minumun graphic card you want is the 8600M GT(note that's not the same as an 8600M GS).

You can also consider the following: 8700M GT, 7900 GS, 7900 GTX, or 7950 GTX
If you want ATI, get either an X1700, X1800, or X1900

Processor, I say go with a least a 1.8GHz core 2 duo

If you dont need a laptop, you can get a good gaming desktop for less money. Checkout this site--CyberPower,Inc--they have great machines at good prices. If you want to stick to a laptop I would get a cpu duo with at least 2.0GHz, and a video card with 512MB ram. For prices on these components go to---Pricewatch.com-- Great prices and many stores, some with free shipping.
