I have had my ears pierced since I was 14. About 15 years ago, I developed a metal allergy and couldn't wear anything including gold and surgical steel. My sister mentioned that it is likely the nickel alloy in the surgical steel that I'm having trouble with. I have been to a number of stores, but nothing is marked No Nickel. How do I find earings without it?

Oh, yea, and this allergy is the reason why I can't have staples when they do surgery.

You absolutely can not sterilize nickel so it doesn't hurt your ears. Your body is telling you not to use the nickel anymore. Try gold or surgical steel. Give up the nickel. It's no good for the human body.
