No. Libertarians come from a variety of religious (as well as atheist and non-religious), ethnic, and cultural backgrounds. In fact, there are other nations where libertarian movements have spawned in recent years.

Libertarians come from all backgrounds, but I'll admit that there does seem to be a disproportionately large number of agnostics and atheists among "declared" libertarians. The reason for this, I believe, is because libertarians are strongly opposed to control of any kind, and many of them see religion as a type of control (or at least a tool of control). I'm a libertarian and a Christian, and I disagree with that idea, but then I see libertarianism as a socio-political philosophy, which is entirely distinct from my religious beliefs.

Because most believers have that desire to evangelize others to be Christian, and to not let their children see anybody not acting like a Christian. That is an authoritarian point of view not compatible with being Libertarian. Could you handle Key West for example? Every October we have an adult party here where people bring their children. It is called fantasy fest. Exceptable clothing is body paint, just body paint. We get drunk in public and often there is sex in public. That is libertarian.

No, I'm a libertarian and I believe in God. As there are many others who do, I think there is only a small number of libertarians who are atheists.

No.

Libertarians are people who hold the same principle, which is that each person owns themselves. It makes no difference whether a person reaches that point through religion or without religion.

I personally have known Libertarians who were athiests, but I have also know Libertarians who were Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Wiccan.

A Libertarian may believe certain things under the umbrella called "religion", but a Libertarian by definition will not seek to impose their religion on anyone else, nor particularly care what anyone else's religion might be.

I'm sure they come from all different faiths. Maybe the most outspoken ones are atheists though.

Actually most libertarians are police sketch artists or small engine repair technicians.

Don't know...why is it important? Our current president claims deep faith yet is playing God and causing death around the world. Sad isn't it?
