It's mainly LSU fans. They hate the fact that they had to share the title in '03. But I keep saying....tell them to blame the media, coaches and the associated press. This is an argument will never end though....................

I have been watching SEC football for 37 years and have visited most SEC campuses for away games. I am a loyal LSU fan. Can USC hang in the SEC? Yes of course they can. USC has done a good job of recruiting here of late and rank with the top teams. Now they would not dominate the SEC not even close. The PAC-10 conference is more about offense and the SEC is more about defense. One of the key differences in SEC defense is the size and speed of their defensive ends. Just ask OSU. USC would have to adjust to the physical play week in and week out that they do not experience now. Also, the SEC Championship game which is usually against a Top 10 opponent is something USC is not accustomed to as well. For example, Florida in the SEC CHampionship game was not able to substitute defensive linemen because they were all banged up. However, they got healthy for the OSU game. When you are doing your comparison of playing ranked teams look where schools end up at the end of the season not the beginning. Look at the Top 20 teams at season's end and then tell me how many PAC-10 teams have made the grade as compared to the SEC over the last 10 years. Then take it a step further and compare how many made it in the Top 10. As a side note, I remember when SEC was courting FSU to join the SEC. Bobby Bowden said okay as long as he didn't have to play Auburn and Bama in the same year. LOL. I thought that was the dumbest line I have ever heard from a coach.

I don't think there is any question that from top to bottom the SEC is an overall better conference. That doesn't mean that the best team from the Pac 10, Big 10, Big 12, etc. can't beat the best team from the SEC.
SEC fan go back and read threads last year after TN beat the cr@p out of Cal and how many were saying that's a clear sign that the Pac 10 blows and the SEC is far superior. Don't dog people now for using the same logic that SEC fans used last year.
Both conference has good and bad teams. The SEC vs. Pac 10 record since 2002 is 6-6. For a conference that thinks they are the NFL compared to the Pac 10 being NFL Europe there sure doesn't seem to be a lot of valid stats to support it when you only look at head to head match ups over the years.

Let's clarify here - SEC fans don't all hate USC. I have no problem with USC except for the fact that they are annointed year in and year out before any football is played. The problem is that (argue all you want) that USC plays a much softer schedule than SEC teams do. Within the PAC-10, there are typically 3 teams who are worth anything - USC, UCLA, and Cal while the balance of the schedule is a cakewalk.
On the flip side - SEC teams have to go out and play top competition each week - Florida, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Auburn, and so on. Heck, last season the SEC was represented in 9 bowl games - that's 75% of the SEC in postseason play. The SEC is such a harder road to ride in order to make it to the top tier bowl game.
USC lost 2 games last season, still won the PAC-10 title and played in the Rose Bowl. The only reason a 2 loss SEC team made it to the Sugar Bowl is because the SEC Champ was playing in the title game.

SEC fan through and through, Louisiana born and bread, I think that the reason SEC fans DISLIKE USC is because they are always held up on high horse regardless of their competition. Whereas the SEC has the toughest competion without a doubt (that's because us southerners know how to play football).
Anyways, the only reason you're bashing other teams on here is so that you can make your own team look better. It's psychology, you put everyone else down to make yourself seem better, most people see right through it, which is quite unfortunate for you.

I think you may be delusional.. ... how hard you will fall and how sad you will be when USC gets spanked this year.
The SEC is a better conference ... USC is just one team.
You have ... what.. USC, Cal and UCLA that are pretty solid teams?
We have LSU, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas that are all powerful teams then a very dangerous and up and coming Alabama, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Kentucky that would all four have a better than .500 record in the Pac 10.
All we are saying is that USC may be a good team.. but they get to take the easy road to the championship.. they don't have near as many tests along the way.

Dude, don't even get me started. I'd bet you five bucks, you only watched your first USC game within the last 5 years, when they got their latest winning streak back.
SEC fans are for LIFE. USC can go to L. :)
That being said, I was sitting on the 50 yard line when USC thumnped Arkansas last year. I know they are a good team...no need to be abnoxious about!

lol... you want us to grow up. First, Tennesse is a second tier SEC team. Second, it seems USC (1 school) fans on this site are flooding out bogus questions simply asking how great they are. Infact you USC fans have posted more pompous garbage that the fans of ALL the teams South Eastern Conference combined.
Grow up and get a clue. USC is good but it isn't a super juggernaut that owns the whole NCAA. Remember Ohio State.

Austin, crawled out from under that rock again eh!
Quit being so worried about the SEC. The main threat to USC is coming Nov 10th against the Pac-10 champion Cal. Boy, you USC fans don't like to talk about Cal any do you?

Then why the question? If you are the best then you don't have to worry about other conferences. You might try applying that to your personal life too. If you are happy, then you have no worries.
Also, SEC fans hate every other conference. Don't go and start feeling all special.

As an LSU fan, I have no hate towards USC.
All of that is reserved for the Ole Piss Rednecks and that "Other" school in Alabama who's name I won't mention....
