They're funding a ballot initiative in California to split the electoral votes instead of winner take all. Why no concern for fairness to Texas voters, since that is where they're from anyway?

Hell no.

They realize that voters in South Texas and elsewhere along the border vote overwhelmingly Democratic, despite the GOP's majority statewide; since those areas are the fastest growing in the state, that would potentially garner more electoral votes for the Democratic nominee in future presidential elections.

This is just a case of the GOP wanting to have its cake and eat it too.
