Yes.
Luciano Pavarotti passed away today, Thursday. The cause of death was pancreatic cancer. He was 71 years old. He was a great man and a fantastic opera tenor. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

As people have already mentioned, the majority of the press reports say he is not dead, but has suffered kidney failure and is unconscious at home rather than in hospital.
That is very sad news, poor man. Pancreatic cancer is horrible - I know all forms of cancer are terrible but this one is particularly evil as it is one of the least successfully treated.
I am glad to see that there is an absence of fat lady singing jokes here as of yet.

Yes not dead but dying. unconcious with kidney failure .
God Bless him I dreamt about him last night. He gave an outside concert on Dunstable Downs In beds (England) for me last night in my dreams and it was absolutely terrific and I could feel my spirit flying with the music and singing.

I just turned on the TV; no news yet. When it occurs, it will be all over. Such a fabulous voice, and so glad that we've been gifted with it. At least we will always have his recordings. Go in peace, Luciano. You won't be forgotten.

They just said he is suffering from kidney failure and also had an operation because he had pancreatic cancer. Doctors said there is little they can do for him, so sadly it looks like he will die soon, he is not in hospital he is at home in Modena with his family.

He is still alive, but in very poor health.
I wonder why great artists always seem to die young.
