New Job Refferal Call?

I got fired from my job, if i tried to look for another job and they want to call for a refferal, can they say anything bad or the reason why i lost my job? What are the questions or aswers they can give?.

They can, but probably won't. Most companies just confirm dates of employment and maybe job title. Some also will answer the question 'would the person be eligible for rehire", and some will give more info.
