Sliders are water turtles, so get them a kiddie pool or something with rocks in the middle. You'll also probably want to put a screen over the top, as turtles can climb and other animals might take interest in them.

You say gated? Can they get through, cuz they will!!!! Just be careful to keep an eye on, cuz they do run away! Turtles have to be fenced in. They can even dig under the ground, smart little things. So if you are watching & no way to get out, the outdoors is great for them. The sunlight, --GREAT! But also watch for predators. Neighbors cats, dogs, even large birds can swoop down & get them. Dont let this discourage you, because the outdoors is healthy for them. Just watch them. Also in heat make sure they have somewhere to cool down if needed, bushe, etc. Also the ar RES so they need water, they are semi aquatic. My RES is mostly in water, more than ground. So it needs access to water. Thats it, good luck!

Keeping your turtles in the back yard is actually really good for them as long as it is warm out. They benefit from the natural sunlight. It will make them healthier, grow faster, and be more colorful. Just make sure they are able to get in the water from time to time because they are aquatic turtles.

Not really. It stresses the turtles to be moved, and their home should fulfill all of their needs. They don't really like to play, don't really like the sun, and they really dislike being away from the safety of water.

Understand, this is not terrible or mean, just not as pleasant for the turtle as it is for you.

Yes it's okay, but let me tell you, I took mine out yesterday, and boy can they run fast. I almost couldn't catch it, so make sure you keep a very close eye on them.

I don't think it will do them any harm....

If you are concerned about how they might react, like get sick or something, double check with your vet!

Make sure they don't eat weeds and make sure no other animals are around. They should be fine.
