I am running Vista home premium with a 19" flat monitor. I have the following prob on a few occasions.?

When I put the computer "TO SLEEP" and then re-start it by touching mouse etc the CPU powers up, and the screen seems to partially come to life, but it stays black and blank. The power button on the screen which is orange in sleep mode, changes back to green, as it should be ,but it wont come on. If i switch the screen power button off at this stage and on again, then the screen lights up instantly. It is only a minor prob, but was just wondering if anyone has any idea why this should happen. As i said it only happens rarely. Usually it opens up fine. Thanks, Charlie

It sounds like a defect in the monitor to me. My guess is that for some reason the monitor is not powering up the inverter circuit, or possibly the entire panel when it comes out of sleep mode. Possibly it is tripping some protection circuit which then gets reset when you power off and on again.


I doubt that it is doing any damage to your monitor, so it is up to you as to whether the aggravation of having to power the monitor off and on occasionally is more or less than trying to get the manufacturer to take it back and replace it. (Or even admit that it is their problem!)

have you checked the connection on the back of the box, make sure it is tightly screwed up, also make sure you have no bent pins in the connection, also go into mycomputer and check in device manager if you have a problem you can't see, if all is OK talk to the manufacture of the tft as the problem will be with the screen.

Try going into settings and check all your power options turn monitor off set it to never this should cure it.

corrupt favs information or menu, prolly could reinstall abode windows and lose the favs back the folder up (and my docs), run a rapid deploy (no longer format) and verify then paste in favs shoudl grant you with the place the subject concerns come
