Have you talked to a doctor? You may have ADD or a learning disabilty. There are many ways you can be assessed and then helped if there is a problem, none of which is your fault. Talk to a school counsellor, they may be able to help you out.

Your inability to concentrate may be related to Attention Deficit Disorder. Your school clinic can help diagnose this. You should then be referred to a doctor for treatment. Once you are diagnosed, you may qualify for medication to help relax, calm you, and help you focus.
Your school should have tutoring available to all of it's students regardless of placement. Bug your counselor about getting help with tutoring, particularly with someone who is knowledgeable about what to do for ADD.
It's okay to have ADD. It's also okay to have learning disabilities. It's really cool that you recognize a problem and still want to do better. One thing you can try to do on your own is establish a regular study time - say one hour each day - in a quiet place where you can do your work. If concentrating on the boring stuff is too hard, maybe you should try to use that time to try putting the boring stuff into a language you understand. Even being alone with a dictionary may help you - especially if you take the time to look up all the big words in the books and rewrite the chapters using words you understand. Play games with your work. Chant the times tables while washing the dishes or folding your laundry, find someone with the History channel and ask them to videotape or TiVo the History programs so the reading part is not so hard. Take the time to read the history and other non-fiction books in the children's section of the library, for those books are easier to understand and the pictures make them more fun to read. Practice addition, subtraction, and multiplication with all the dice from all the board games you never play. (You know, counting all the dots on each die, finding out how many dots total, etc.) You would be surprised at how much math you remember when you play the card game "21"!
By trying to make your studies more interesting, you will retain more and do better.
Good luck to you.
(Now I need to go do MY homework! 4 more chapter reviews to go!)

First, your welcome. :)

Second, you must know someone smart! Are your parents smart and able to help you? Ask them. If not, then act a student whom you know excels at school. Chances are, they would be willing to do it for credit and because its the right thing to do! :] For yourself, tell yourself "Do i want to end up working the late shift at McDonald's and sleeping at the subway station all night?" If the answer is no, like it should be, remind yourself of current goals. (Go to Princeton, get a law degree from Yale, by a house, etc.) If you don't have any goals, then set them!!
Don't give up, you can do it!
