I leave the pillow case on the pillow and put it in the wash machine then dry it in the dry 2-3 times. The feathers usually stay in it with the pillow case on it

Take them to the laundromat and use one of the huge front loaders. Wash like anything else. Warm water. Put in the dryer on permanent press with a pair of clean sneakers. Dry until COMPLETELY dry.
Twice a year I take all my comforters and pillows for a good scrub.

From my Mother's experience, you never wash a feather pillow. To sanitize it, place it out in the Sun for several hours and then turn it over for another few hours to Sun.

Feather pillows can only be drywashed. Once they get wet, they may mold which will create health problems for you.
