In remodeling my house, there is a small area that was completely walled off (about 5 x 10 ft). I would like to keep it a hidden area, but don't know any good ways to hide it.

The 5 ft side is the only side that I can add a "secret" entrance too. What are some good ways to make a secret entrance? The wall is 5 ft wide like I said, and has a full 8 ft height. The entrance would be through a laundry room, so something like bookshelves or storage as a front would be possible if not preferred.

Use some hidden hinges and build a small bookcase recessed into the wall. Saw a house in Chicago some years back and one of the bedrooms had the bookcase as a door. Other than that you wouldn't have known about the bedroom being there. Very unusual.

good luck.

I would ditch the bose speakers and get some good yamaha or Sony speakers, as well as a good yamaha amp because they are heaps better than bose, unless you really want th size of the bose speakers. I would look at an LCD screen instead of a plasma because they do not get screen burn witch is an issue while you are playing games with a static image e.g spedo in a racing game and an lcd screen has a longer life. The rest of the setup is great.

Probably easiest to do if the "door" pushes open, into the secret room. Maybe use one of those built into the wall, pull down ironing board units. That would give you an adequate framing and size?
