My best friend was driving without insurance, got into a wreck that he caused. And now is being sued by the other person’s insurance company. Can the other person sue him as well as their insurance company? I told him he should hire a lawyer, but he insists against it. Because he isn’t disputing whether or not he was at fault. Go figure.

If the other person had costs they had to pay (deductible on their insurance for example) then they could come after him as well.

First of all, if your friend isn't smart enough to have insurance or get a lawyer, I don't know why you're wasting your time trying to help. He obviously is trying to dig himself into a nice, deep hole. Technically, he can be sued by the person in the wreck, their insurance company, and anyone else who may have lost money in or been affected by this accident (like the police or emergency response people who showed up, the hospital that treated victims, the city who repaired what he damaged on the road, the electric company if he hit a pole -- the list goes on).

Yes, both the insurance company and the actual victim can sue. He really, really, really needs a lawyer at this point like you said.
