OMG my friend's cousin's sister just named her baby daughter, "Temperence". The name means moderation and self-control. I thought she was joking! Would you do this to a kid?

Yep, you got it, Gatsby, I would give my child an over-used name any day to save him from the embarassment of having an unusual name and being picked on in school. Worst thing they can say to my son is..."Hey Noah, where is your ark?" Come on!

That's just asking for an out of control child. Seriously, I can't tell you how many Patience's out there I know that are extremely lacking of it.
I'm all for people that want to give their kid under-used names but it eventually will become over-used anyways. There are just some word...that shouldn't be Pronouns.

Yes..... what do you want her to be named? Emily, Ava, Ashley???? All the same old names that EVERYONE uses?
Well, I guess if you give your kid an overused name like Noah, you wouldn't like Temperence...

i think its a nice sounding name and it has a good meaning. i dont personaly like the name but i do believe that when you name a person or an animal, that they take on the meaning of that name. ive just found it to be true in my life, so i think its a decent name.

It's an old, established name. I wouldn't use it, but I kind of like it. And I think it's much nicer than Katelyn, Madison, Brianna, etc.

geez why would you want to curse a child with such a wierd name? people only give their children strange names like that for their ego and it has nothing to do with the child
