Sit in a chair. Get someone to push you in one direction. Its just taking something and moving it without rotation.

Yes, we could say a translational motion is a movement at its purest expression... Somethings goes in a very straight line from a point A to a point B, without any rotation, vibration, ondulation, or anything else.
