Taste-I think a year after, I should be my ideal weight- I'm overweight because I love food!

If I had to pick one, I guess I'd go for smell, as long as it didn't affect my ability to taste. I guess a typical day would be like having a cold except you're not stuffed up, and you kind of wander around not smelling stuff. That would be sad to never get to smell chocolate chip cookies in the oven again, but it would come in handy in public restrooms. By the way, the medical term for losing your sense of smell is anosmia.

Well, I used to be able to smell things before anyone else did. I live in Southern California and we get a lot of wildfires here. I used to be able to smell smoke from a fire so far away, before anyone even knew there was a fire. Now, someone can pass gas right next to me and I don't smell it. That is a blessing in that sense, but it makes me sad in another, since my sense of smell is greatly diminished. I have horrible allergy problems, and on those rare occasions when I am actually having a good "allergy day", I can actually smell many things and am delighted to be able to do so. It's usually on those days that I can smell the cat's litter box, dog-gone-it!!

My father lost his sense of taste before he died and he lost the ability to enjoy some of his favorite foods. If I had the choice of losing any of my senses, I would rather lose my sense of smell. To not be able to see my children's faces, hear their laughter and/or voices, or to not be able to feel it when I hug them or be able to taste my favorite foods, would be so heartbreaking for me. I'd rather give up being able to smell things, because then the worst that could happen is that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the smells of good cooking or pretty flowers, but I'd be able to taste or see them just the same, and I wouldn't be able to smell a fire or other danger, but my eyes and ears would be able to warn me to the dangers.

smell.
i chose this bcus without smell half your taste is gone, so you can basically eat anything... fx i hate veggies but without smell i wouldnt notice a thing :)
also, i treasure all my other senses too much.
hearing: im a musician so thats out of the question
sight: HELLOOOO!! driving! reading! important things .....!!
taste: how would u ever taste something good again???
touch: you would probably go insane from paranoia.....
yeah im getting the feeling im forgetting something.
but what everr.
a day after my loss would be like this:
wake up, eat healthy stuff for bfast... regardless if it tastes good or not bcus i can hardly taste it anyway :)
go to school and NOT smell that nasty kid that farted or the B.O. from PE.... i would go to lunch and eat alot of veggies bcus its not like i can hardly even taste it and then come home, do homework and eat veggies for dinner :)
haha that actually sounds really good. maybe i should look into that :p

My boyfriend cant smell anything. He wishes he could, but he's gotten so use to it it doesn't really bother him anymore. He lost his sense of smell about 13 yrs ago. So, if I'd lose my sense of smell It wouldn't be that big of a deal I'm a pickey eater anyways.

I don't even want to think about it! The thought of being blind and losing all the colour in your life (or, if born blind, not knowing what all these wonders are). Smell, wouldn't you ever go crazy just to smell a loaf of bread cooking in a bakery? Hearing, NEVER!

Just... I wonna keep them all.
