I find your question confusing. Why would President Bush want to cover up Al Gore's election fraud trail?? While it may come as a compete surprise to you, people die every day from illness or accidents. Even if Rep. Gilmor knew every nuance about Al Gore's election fraud attempt, why would it make any difference? He lost, even with said attempt.

What limited coverage there is implies no foul play. One article I read implied he hadn't been feeling very well for a few days before he died.
