If I drop out of a community college after the third week, will this remain on my permanent record should I decide to apply at a real college? How bad will this hurt my chances of getting into a state college?

yes this will remain on your permanent record because you started attending school there. As far as grades since you did not complete any course work it will not count against you. However, some schools will hold the fact that you started a semester at another school and did not complete it against you in determining whether to admit you.

Try to withdraw officially, if the deadline hasn't passed (talk to the registrar's office to find out how). This will keep the dropped courses from converting to a bunch of Fs. You're out of luck if the withdraw deadline has passed, though. If you get those Fs, you can sure bet they'll affect your chances for college admission.

DON'T JUST WALK OFF without giving notice. Take a couple extra hours to make sure you're officially off the rosters.

Remember that community college is just as "real" as any other college. CC transcripts are just as official, just as required, and just as scrutinized as any other transcripts when you're applying to future colleges.

you'd have to find out when your school's drop date is...i don't think you should be past it yet. if you wait too long you could end up getting an incomplete which would be on your record so if you think you don't want to complete the semester just drop your classes now. there's nothing wrong with taking a break during your college career so if you decide to go to a state school you should be fine as long as you have decent high school grades and act or sat scores. good luck!!

What it will show on your trasnscript it "W" for with drawing.
And depending on the school on how long you attended the classes it might show:
"WP" wiithdraw passing
or
"WF" withdraw failing.

If you didn't complete any of the courses I won't even put it on my application unless I had been getting some form of aid or scholarship. Because will show up when you apply for things like Pell Grants.

If you didn't go long enoubh so that you got all "W's or if you got "WP"s then it shouldn't hurt, but is going to depend on the college.

No cuz you will not get any credits for it.

But you should just stick to it. its not that hard and if your grades are good it'll be eiser to get into a full time college.
