coeducation or coeducational,
meaning a mix of male and female participants
Edit:
ghouly05 is also right about the word being frequently used to refer to a female at a coeducational school. Males are never referred to as coeds.

When I attended Grammar School in the 1950/60's in England schools were mainly segregated into Boys' Schools and Girls' Schools. Those rare ones that took both boys and girls were known as Co-Educational Schools. Sadly mine was boys only.
