I have been w/ this company for 1 year and a half. It is a call center funded by the state. (National Clearinghouse of Alcohol and Drug Information, in MD)

You should be eligible for unemployment compensation. Severance pay is not required by law - it's a matter of company policy, so if you get any and what it would be depends on what the company decides to do.

It all really depends on the company I work for a bank which will possibly be getting rid of us, if they do I after working just over a year would get 8 weeks severence, but apparently thats a lot compared to most companies.

Each company has different policies. Usually it is one week per year.

a week per year of service and then your vacation time also.
