If a guy and girl who really care and love for each other go through a difficult time - they have't seen or spoken to each other in a while, both kinda shy (usually depend on other people's comments because it's the shortcut rather than going to the person b/c of fear) - when people haven't had any contact with someone they've been involved with but still deeply care for each other, DOES IT BRING OUT INSECURITIES? the fact tha you don't know what's going on between you two (what you've been up to, who you might have been with) - does it get your crazy and insecure?

There is no way to feel secure with someone when you don't have any information about what's going on. There's no way to make sure they're alright or be there for them if they need to talk. If you really care for this person so much, you need to get closer and make the effort to establish contact. Otherwise, its a waste of emotional energy and can be quite stressful.
