help i have a problem; i am starting high school tomorrow at a new school, and im quite a shy person. im short and not exactly the ugliest person.
i dont know anyone there and i guess my question is how do i make more friends and stuff
cuz like i went to the same school with the same kids for 9 years so i knew everyone, and i just moved to a different state and stuff so i need help.
any advice on how to make new friends;perferably more popular kids.

I would just be patient
it might take a couple weeks to meet new friends
its been awhile since I went to high school
but if you dont know anyone
try to join a club or other after school activity
thats sometimes a good way to meet people
after school stuff when things are more relaxed
cuz during classes and off periods are kinda hectic socially
so ya thats what I would do

Be yourself - use small talk
Be friendly - introduce yourself
Find others who have similar interests (perhaps check out clubs or sports or other activities)
Be involved - volunteer
Use humor
Ask questions
Don't be afraid to tell people you're new to the area - most folks like to meet new people and help out
Be a good listener - show interest in others
Talk to people
