My 2 1/2 week old daughter has been going back & forth on breastmilk & premade formula. She's been doing great with both; no spit up. Yesterday we ran out of the premade formula & began powdered formula & now she won't keep it down. What's wrong?

The texture is probably not right. Make sure you are mixing it correctly. Plus, breast milk taste better than formula. Most babies that are given both will prefer the breast milk.

Is it the same brand? It could be because the powder formula tends to be a little more watery while the premade formula is a little thicker. I always added a little bit of cereal to my daughters bottles to thicken it up a bit so she could keep it down.

You might have mixxed the powdered formula differently. That is one of the big set backs with powdered instead of the premixed no matter how carefully you measure there is no way to get it the same strength every time which causes tummy up set. also if you ate something that didn't agree with her the breast milk might upset her stomach

Try mixing it and then let it sit in the fridge for awhile until it settles a bit.

She notices that it tastes different. It may be upsetting her stomach, or it doesn't taste the same. Try to be consistent to avoid allergies...

why not just fully breast fed it would be much cheaper for you and baby will do so much better on it.
