For my sister's shower I went to Victoria's Secret and picked up some of their little, inexpensive make-up stuff. Chapsticks, lipglosses, eyeshadows, etc... stuff that I knew people would use.

When my mom and I threw my sister her baby shower back in May, my mom went up to the Dollar Store and Wal-Mart for the gifts. We played Baby Bingo (I made some really cool boards for this game so if you wanted, I could send you them), then we played a game called bloomers which is reallllllly funny, a game that we have like 15 baby items laid on the floor for 30 seconds, and then picked em all up and hid them and you had to remember what items they were, then a word scramble. I think there might have been a few other games.. but for prizes, we bought candles, or nail kits (clippers, emery boards, etc.), a gel candle burner, and items like that... our baby shower was for all girls tho..

It depends on how you do the gifts. I've been to several baby showers & seen it done different ways.
I personally like to give away candles, potpourri, any little(cute) item from $ store. They have some really cute stuff there.
The other way is that you get little items for the baby(such as bottle, rubber duckie, socks, spoons, etc...) & them the recipent of the gift will then give it to the mom to be.
Hope this helps!!!!

At one shower I went to, the prizes were little bottles of scented hand lotions. At another it was small scented candles in votive holders that matched the party decor. Small bottles of light scented perfumes, jewelry charms for charm bracelets, baby themed earrings.
But, I like the candles or lotions. Simple and understated because it is a baby shower. Don't let the Mom be left out. I always included a gift for the expecting Mom that was for her with my gift for the baby.

I don't know if you have a dollar store where you live but that is a great place to get some inexpensive gifts. Like journals, candles, lotions, body soap, picture frames, stationary gift sets, or like a $5 star bucks gift card. Good luck and have lots of fun

for baby and bridal showers (I've been many a bridesmaid and many friends w/ babies) I always love doing candles &/or bath items for game prizes and hostess gifts.
You can scour dollar stores for votives that are 3 or 4 for $1, then also find candle holders for super cheap... tiny terra cotta pots work well as candle holders...
once for a baby shower... I found baby bottles at a 2/$1 and filled them with pink/blue bath salts also from that dollar store.

Beaded jewelry, lotions, bodywash, candles, picture frames, candy/food...just wrap it up really nicely and it will add to the appeal, even if it is just an inexpensive gift. Have fun!
