no ... I'm not saying that the world would be better without cons, I'm saying the 2 sides put each other in a catch-22 (and maybe they both want it that way)
Im actually a moderate that leans towards liberal on some issues ... but I love that I got cons on the defensive, cons hate to deal with the truth
and both side seems to make things up and claim to be 'realists', so spare me if you buy into one side or the other too much ... our government is broken and we are too lazy to fix it

I have found that to be very true with some, yes. I've reached the conclusion that those who don't believe in fiscal conservatism will label you, no matter what. I'm very liberal when it comes to social issues. I'm conservative when it comes to fiscal issues. I'm also not a religious fundie. Regardless, I've been called more names than I can throw a book at for not being an Obama supporter. I dislike RINOs as much as I dislike him. Great questions, btw. A breath of fresh air for this place.

You are partially right that conservatives tend to be more realistic and liberals tend to be more idealistic.
if you want to see what happens when liberal ideology takes over conservative realism? look up the events leading up to ww2.
England and Europe ignored the threat of war and the clear cut signs danger was coming because they thought negotiations would work. Negotiations would never have worked, and in fact negotiations had made the situation more dire when an entire country was sacrificed to buy peace from some one who never wanted peace.
The people who saw the treat were shouted down and threatened and the threat grew until it erupted and Europe was in flames.
There obviously needs to be a good mix of realism and ideology. you can't rely on just one or the other alone.

I'm not sure what your message is. However, it's all politics. Neither side fights fair.
Each side has an agenda to promote. They are conflicting agendas. Therefore each side disagrees with each other.
As an informed citizen, you need to choose who you believe best represents your beliefs.

Absolutely true. However, if liberals expect to make any progress they have to learn to get as down and dirty as the conservatives because the conservatives are getting meaner and fighting dirtier every single day. Taking the high road is not going to make it.
