My husband and I would like to start trying for a baby and we just want to know what has worked for some people. We haven't tried w/o birth control yet so it is not like there are fertility problems (that we know of). We just want to know what we should try. *Keep it clean people!

You can try a few things to see when you ovulate. One thing is you can buy a n ovulation prediction kit at almost any drug store. Its just a stick you can pee on and it will tell you if you are ovulating or getting close. Also you can track your CM or cervical mucus. Two to three days before you ovulate you will start seeing a thin almost transparent discharge.. Almost like raw egg whites. If you do ovulate you can get pregnant! If you are trying to conceive and do ovulate there are tips to help you. Such as after sex you should lay on your back with a pillow under your hips so that the sperm can pool to the back sitting right against your cervix where it needs to be, sit that way for 20 to 30 minutes. Also don't rush up and go to the restroom until after that time. Good luck and lots of baby dust!!!

First, if you've been on birth control acknowledge that it might take some time to detox. I've talked to some doctors and they've said three months is probably a good estimate of how long it takes your body to detox from the pills (though it also depends on how old you are and how long you've been taking the pills). If you've just been using other forms of birth control, you shouldn't have to worry.

Second, keep track of your ovulation. Try taking your basal temperature to pinpoint ovulation. You can get basal thermometers in most large chains and you can download a fertility chart online easily. You can also check your cervical mucus. Your CM should be clear, slippery and stretchy. By using the basal body temperature in conjunction with your CM tests, you'll be able to best pinpoint when you ovulate.

They do sell ovulation kits at many stores, but I don't know if I trust them. I've heard differing opinions on the accuracy of the kits, so I'd stick to the basal temperature and cervical mucus tests. Good luck :)

The best thing to do first is just get off the birth control and relax. Let your body adjust itself for a couple of months , try not to worry about it , and just make love with your husband. Spend time together and cuddle alot. After all there won't be much time for that after the baby is born. Before you go off with all these other expensive methods just try it naturally for a little while. Good Luck

1. Have sex three times a week
2. Use an ovulation prediction kit or fertility monitor.
3. Have sex before ovulation (not after).
4. Don’t rely on the Calendar method for predicting ovulation.
5. Charting may not be the best way to predict ovulation.
6. See a doctor before you start trying to get pregnant.
7. Don’t smoke, drink alcohol, or abuse drugs when trying to get pregnant
8. Have enjoyable sex.
9. Have sex in positions that keep sperm inside the vagina longer.

The missionary position is a good position to use when trying to get pregnant. Avoid positions where the woman is on top. Gravity will allow sperm to leak out with these positions. Also try placing a pillow under your hips to help tilt your pelvis and keep the sperm in longer. Don’t get up right after sex. Try to relax and allow the sperm to stay in the vagina as long as possible.
10. There is no such thing as trying too hard to get pregnant.
Most couples get pregnant within a year of trying. If you have not gotten pregnant within a year consult your doctor for advice.

Good Luck Girl!

When I became pregnant with my son I learned that there is only a 3 day period that you can actually become pregnant. From the time you start you period you count your 13th, 14th & 15th days, these are the magical numbers. you also need to remember that the sperm will stay in side yiu for 3 days, so if you countened to your 11th day(after you start your period) and have sex on that night, the sperm will still be inside of you to start off your 13th day, then have sex on those days (ESPECIALLY) and you have a good chance of becomming a mommy and daddy. Also, just to let you know, sometimes it may take up to 3 to 4 months to get the birth control out of your system. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

You can try tracking your basal body temperature. Fertility friend.com has a good learning course on how to do it. You can try using ovulation predictor kits to find out when you're ovulating. Some people say after you "baby-dance" put a pillow under your pelvis and your feet up in the air for about 10 min to help the little swimmers stay near the cervix. Good luck to you!

Oh, and I wanted to add, the week you are ovulating, you can try "baby-dancing" every other day, that way it will keep your hubbys sperm count up, that way you get the strong swimmers. That worked for me

Me and my husband used the Rhythm Method. It was succexxful. We have 4 children together. My oldest with him we used the Rhythym Method. The other children well, uhm, was using birthcontrol with them all and still got pregnant. :D

I did a quik search for ya. Please go to the source link below and you can see.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
"The rhythm method, also known as the calendar method or the Knaus-Ogino method (named after Hermann Knaus and Kyusaku Ogino), is a method of natural birth control that involves counting days of a woman's menstrual cycle in order to achieve or avoid pregnancy. A recently developed variant of the rhythm method is known as the Standard Days Method."

The most important thing is to have properly timed intercourse. After you stop using birth control and your cycles return to normal then try to pinpoint ovulation--it ususally takes place about 2 weeks before your next period starts. Have intercourse every other day for optimal results. Take a prenatal vit daily, avoid lubricants, eat healthy, exercise moderately, avoid cigs and alcohol, and most importantly about 3 months before you actively start trying see your OB/Gyn for a Pre-conception visit.

Well intercoarse and fiddling around with each other is the only way Im aware you can get pregnant. Count about 10-12 days after your period (most woman ususally ovulate around this time) and get busy. A mans sperm can live inside of you for about 2-3 days and the more he ejaculates the less sperm he puts out each time. But As far as technique, havent heard anything.

At about 2.5 weeks before you you are to ovulate have him hold of from sex (anything that cause him to orgsm). Then at about 1.5 weeks before ovulation to a day or two after, have him take you as often as possible. You may want to faciliate things by going without clothes (makes for easier access). Good Luck, have fun, and remember it may take several tries to get it. Relax and don't worry about getting pregnant - the added stress of worrying about it can affect odds - just enjoy the act of trying ;)
