Hi- Thanks for a visual, that helps. You really should go to the Dr. and get this looked at. Worst case scenrio, it could be a cyst, which a Physician could lance (small incision) under a local anesthetic (ie: an injection of lidocaine, or another numbing agent)- The Doc will then take a small sterile blade, and get the fluid out of this area. This can then be tested for good cells/bad cells (which takes a number of days to come back)- NOW, like I said, that is worst case scenerio. It could be something else, but, after working in an Emergency Room, I have seen this procedure done many times. This really gets to the core of the problem. It could be a variety of things, but, PLEASE get this checked out- Antibiotic treatment may be needed, in any case. It wouldn't hurt to apply a warm compress on this, something like a warm wash cloth for 10-15 minutes a couple of hours off and on. Also, if you are hurting @ this site, you can take up to 800 mg of ibuprophen every 6 hours to assit with pain management. I hope this helped you out. Please go get this checked up. I'd like to hear follow up on this one. Take care and good luck!

Hi Max,
I saw the picture. There is a red zone aound the lump, which is a sign of infection. This may well be a pimple.
Try using some benzoyl perodide on it for a couple of days to see if it will clear up.

It could just be a cyst. Like a big lump of extra tissue. I would take some aspirin to try to loosen it up, but you should really just cut it open and "pop" it. That or get a doctor to do it. Good luck!

I think its a cyst. I get them behind my ears all the time. I had one that was so big I had to go get it lanced, but the rest I just pop myself. Try to pop it, if it pops put some alcohol on it to dry it up, if not get it checked out cause it might be something else.

Probably a boil very difficult to pop so stick a pin into it and then squeeze
