I'm a pretty big guy, not big enough to be intimidating, but relatively gruff looking, yet for some reason I have a very soft voice that at random intervals kinda squeaks.

No I don't have a high pitched voice, just a voice where I'll be in the middle of talking and suddenly go up about 5 pitches for a second or two, with no apparent reason.

Is there anyway to change/control this?

Sorry, I'm 20 years old.

This has been an issue b/c people think I'm younger when I open my mouth.

If you use your voice a lot, it will get a little bit deeper.

Yes, its just voice training. Its like the scottish who put more emphisis on the tail end of sentences. You probbaly developed the softness as do many bigger guys. Perhaps you had smaller friends or brothers groing up and you had to treat them fragilely. Just some voice training will help and if not there's always whiskey and cigs.

Find a speech coach. A lot of people (particularly transvestites, people like yourself, and people with speech impediments) go to speech coaches to sound a different way. It pretty much just consists of training your voice box to stay at a certain pitch while talking.

Yes, but you will have to practice with your new voice. Find one you like and practice talking in it. It really works. How do you think all those drag queens talk like women? Yours will just be the other way around. You just don't have enough control over your trachea. That's why it squeeks. It's has muscle and you have to work it!
