The Japanese get a kick out of makining a beautiful girl, giving her a feminine voice, and making her wear suggestive clothing... then five minutes later telling you that they are actually a guy.

I'm not really complaining though. Jun Watarse from Happiness! was the only reason that one would really want to watch that show. He also made it to round 3 in the Saimoe compeition this year which had me cracking up.

freiza wasnt androgynous he was fricken bald

plus when comparing freeza to the really androgynous charecters like Haku from Naruto
freeza sames like a manly man if you ask me

but i do agree with you tho but i think dbz was the only japanese animation without any queer characters

Me & my friend had the same conversation. Seems that nearly every good/popular anime has an androgynous/homosexual character and a perv.

But seriously, i think it has to do with bishounens. Japanese seem to have a fetish for bishounen characters who have feminine appeal.

Because they look good. I mean really, even girls think they're hot. If I has a choice between looking tough and chiseled or being slender and feminine looking, I'd take option two.
