Federer, simply because he knows how to pull himself out of trouble when necessary. He has an all-court game that outshines Roddick's only weapon, that being his serve. Sure, Roddick's confident, but it can only do so much for him against a guy who's beaten him 13 out of 14 times. Roddick not having dropped a set, means nothing facing Federer. The match comes down to serving well and executing greatly and Federer has the advantage in both. Therefore it's only fair to say that Federer (although I don't like him) will walk away victorious in 3 sets.

Federer. If one has closely observed these 2 play during this
year, Federer has dominated Roddick. Roddick had no
answers to all those losses. Even for Roddick to win a set
he has to be on top form, just like Ferrer was yesterday to
take out Nadal. One thing that will work for Roddick is the
crowd support and his blistering serves. The fast serves have
always caused problems to Federer, which can be seen in
the first set against Isner.
So bottom line, Federer wins in 4 sets....I am giving one set
to Roddick for his serves.

Vicki, unless Federer played his 2 four set matches the same day as his quarterfinals match, it doesn't really matter. In the 13 matches when Federer has beaten Roddick, he was won all but 4 sets. That is how utterly dominate Federer is against Andy Roddick.

The important thing to know is that federer is just plain good. There are only two people left that can beat him(notice i said can not will)
Novak djokavic and andy roddick
my guess is that roddick will give 3 good sets and 1 bad one and lose in 4. Chances federer79% and roddick21%
Djokavic will beat federer in 5 sets and will win the us open.

Federer. Look at their head to head records. Roddick can win, but that is unlikely. Probably has a 15% chance of beating Federer -- which is better than most folks have.

i feel bad for roddick but his only major threat is his big serve. thats the only thing he can do to survive....but federer is great around the court so dont think he gets intimidated by roddicks's serve...we all know federer is more likely to win because the guy is simply too good

what is this? a rhetorical question?
have you watched tennis that last 4 years or checked their head-to-head records?
federer obviously played much tougher opponents. roddick had two of four bail on him. the other two were low ranked players.
