How many hours do you need before rain? The can just says do not seal if rain is imminant, but it doesn't say what imminant means (in minutes, hours, days, etc...)

Yes, you can. Plus, it's always a good idea, to do it, enough in advance. I think 12 hours would be sufficent. Go to the nearest Corlin Paint store and see if they have, a good sealer. Thompsons is one of the best, but not the very best.

60% chance sounds like even if it doesn't rain, it will be humid. I like to watch weather forecasts AND the actual weather, hoping for 2 days of dry weather before doing the sealing and for at least 2 days afterwards. See if you can find a product called Duxback; Thompson's is crap, IMHO.

A clean, algae-free and preferably pressure-washed deck makes the sealer work better; apply it in even strokes, avoid overlapping the strokes and don't apply it to a deck that is hot from the sun.

One of the potential risks with rushing the application is that if in fact it does rain, it could leave (and most likely would) water spots across the deck. Some would eventually "bleach" with u.v. exposure; however, others would not. Give it a couple of days after any rain to thoroughly dry.

Well it would take about 3days to dry, so I would just say hold tight till the sun shines.
