With my night shift hours (done so I can see my son before and after work!) vacations become very few and far in between, and vacations with friends (instead of my wife and son) become an impossibility.
It's just the way life is, anymore. You struggle to make ends meet, and the cost of living skyrockets along with the gas prices, while wages do not keep up :/

That's pretty cool but I can't do that at the moment. Too many umbilical cords still attached to me. Are her children older and out on their own? Is she married?
I don't want to vacation without my spouse. Now, children....that's a different thought pattern. Sometime in the near future, I hope.
