What's wrong with people watching? It's human nature to look at people.

studies show babies are more fascinated by human faces than any color or shape in the world. That said, i think as we grow up in the world we are given societal rules of behavior, we are told not to stare, to give personal space etc & so forth (now this is just our cultural....other countries have diff. cues and ideas about how to behave) when we act outside those "norms" people may look at us as weird or strange but it doesn't make it so. Now if you know what you are doing is making someone uncomfortable you can do 2 things....one is look away.....make the eye contact that you need but once you understand they are weirded out by it then focus your attention elsewhere giving them some "room" & the other thing you can do is be honest & say "i'm sorry if my staring makes you uncomfortable, it has no reflection on you i just like to look at faces" there is nothing wrong with you for wanting to look at people, we all people watch but you can learn to focus on something else for a few moments so they can let their guard down and then go right back to looking. A smile when they catch you staring is always good, it might be taken for attraction but you can always use the "im sorry" excuse if they make advances that are unwanted. so in my opinion you are fine, just a bit out of the societal "norm" and aren't we all in our own ways LOL

I was going to just say you could be a people watcher and it's no big deal.. but if you are having other issues... like you have noted... you may be trying to avoid reality...

It's probably just who you are and not a big deal... but it's better safe than sorry right? and it's obviously bothering you... so I'd go talk to a councilor .. someone you can talk more in-depth to... and see what they think.

You need to find peace within yourself.
