Casual dress is the rule for Las Vegas. Unless you are going to very expensive restaurants or nightclubs there is no dress code anywhere.
Make sure to visit Red Rock Canyon and Hoover Dam. And, get off of Las Vegas Boulevard and go to a locals' casino such as Red Rock Casino or Sam's Town.

That depends. If you have a great body and plan to visit the pool, a nice bikini will do. If you are like me and won't spend any time near the pool (I can do that at home) then don't bother packing it. If it's winter, a warm jacket is essential. The main thing is you are comfortable. Vegas is not diamonds and fur anymore. Maybe 1 or 2 dressy outfits if you are going to a show or an expensive restaurant other then that, comfortable pants and tops are just fine. Even flip flops!! If you can pack clothes that don't wrinkle much, it will make your trip much nicer. It ain't that big of a deal anymore. When you go, you will know what I mean. I go every year and I live in Hawaii. We don't dress fussy here or there and neither does anyone else. Just have fun!!!

If you are not going to trendy places, then just wear what you would normally wear. Just dress for the weather. It will be hot through September. A few years ago, I was there in mid-September. It was quite hot. In the evenings, it got to be a reasonable tempurature, but it was not weather where you need to wear long sleeve or a jacket.
In early October is when the nights will become very chilly.
As far as dress codes go, there really are not any, except in upscale restaurants and clubs.
People rarely dress up. But to not feel out of place, if you are going to wear casual clothes, you may want to wear more designer clothes in the more upscale casinos. If you are in a more upscale casino (Mirage, Wynn, Bellagio, Venetian), then you may feel out of place by wearing a t-shirt with a sports logo on it and a pair of shorts from Wal-Mart. If you do underdress, you probably won't be kicked out, but you will see that the service will not be as attentative to your needs. If your appearence is clean and tidy, you probably will not have any problems.

The weather in a desert is always warm-hot even in the late night hours, but be prepared for the freezing cold a/c when you are in the casinos!
You def. will need some good walking shoes, pack some shorts or skirts or dresses (whatever your preference is), maybe 1 pair of long pants/jeans, pack mostly tshirts or tanks, and of course undies and socks! If you plan to swim or lounge in the pool area, bring your bathing suit and something to cover up.
I usually dress in shorts with a tank or tshirt and flip flop during the day. During night, (depending on if I go dining at a nice play or going to watch a show) I usually just slip into a simply dress and some wedges or something with a low heel just in case I need to walk a long distance.

Hi I just got back from Vegas on Monday sure it was fun!!! Well, first off don't be silly wearing high heels walking around like those silly girls do (I bet you will see them a lot especially at night) It's ok to wear fancy and heels if you are going to high-end dinning or some place has dress code - but it will be really silly to wear heels to just walk around even though a lot of girls still do but you can see that they are walking weird and miserably.
I packed a lot of dresses, shorts, and a pair of jeans just for in case (I stayed there for 3 days only) Make sure bring some sweaters or jackets coz inside of the casinos and hotels are cold, but when you go outside will be very very hot (easy to get sick).
You wanna look nice in Vegas while you wanna shop & walk comfortably. A dress w/ flip flop was my look and that worked pretty well. So pretty much just bring something comfortable to wear but looks cute and chic =)
Bring some sunblocks just for in case you will walk on the strip, but most hotels are accessable.
Bring cash coz I think they only have Bank of America ATM around.
You can buy pretty much everything in Vegas if in case you forgot to bring any....
Good luck and have a lot of FUN!!!!!

Pretty much anything goes. (Don't believe me? Wait. Spend some time people watching. It can be an episode of "What Not To Wear" waiting to happen!)
A must: good walking shoes!! (Four inch heels may look cute, but if you're walking from Mandalay Bay to Bellagio, you'll be dying by the time you get there!)
For daytime: shorts or skirts with t-shirts. Capris are okay. I take one pair of denim shorts, two pair of non-denim shorts, and my denim skort.)
For evening: bring one dress, maybe a pair of jeans, and dressy pants. (If you're going to a Cirque show - wear the dress. It doesn't have to be fancy, I have a simple LBD (sheath) that covers just about anything.)
Bring your bathing suit and a coverup. You can't walk thru the casino in just your suit. They REALLY frown on that!

its really warm in vegas so make sure you have cool clothing. me personally, when I go there I wear comfy casual clothes during the day (jeans, shorts, flip flops, tank tops) and bring some dressier clothes for night activities. (flashy tops, tops that are a little more dressy, skirts, cute cocktail dresses, or even a nice pair of jeans). most places have dress codes, but they are more strict when it comes to what guys are wearing. make sure you check the dress code just to be sure. heels are a must at night time, no matter what you are doing. have a great time!!

Weather is really unpredictable. Even in the desert. Take things for hot weather and cool. It will be cool at night and in the hotels/casinos.
One time I went to Vegas and left my winter jacket at home. I needed to buy a heavy sweatshirt on our second day there. They had a cold snap that even froze water pipes.
Wear what you're comfortable with. Take a variety of things to wear.
Have fun

Vegas is very hot, but its dry heat. Make sure you take plenty of light weight clothes. Take shorts, skirts, tank tops, 2 bathing suits, sandals, sun glasses, sunscreen, maybe a hat. It is hot when you walk the strip during the day but its still hot when the sun is down. You may want to take a light sweater, because when you are in the casinos it gets very cold. Oh and if you do gamble you will come out smelling like cigarette smoke. If you can, take an extra big bag for dirty clothes because you dont want to get your luggage stinky of cigarette. Thats what I always do. Alot of the places to eat are just casual so you dont need anything fancy to where. People go eat in shorts and tanks and sandals. Just keep it light. Maybe some extra clothes because like I said you may want to shower and change later in the day because of the heat. One tip, some of the casinos have connecting bridges so use them instead of walking out on the street so you dont have to wait at the light. Dont be surprised if you see people at night giving out flyers, they are to strip clubs, just ignore them. There are people that will ask you if you want free tickets to shows but they are always trying to get you to get timeshare. You will see them in front of hotels or at a desk.
Must see- Bellagio water show(free), visit tower in paris( fee)at night, lions in mgm. ooh, if you gamble make sure you sign up for player cards sometimes you get free stuff. Have fun in vegas!!!!!
