Well App State had a spread offense and Michigan couldnt stop it. Oregon has a spread offense so lets see what Michigan can do to stop them. Its not Michigan's offense that is going to hold them back obviously, its their defense. I think Michigan will lose to Wisconsin and Ohio State. The defense is not good.

Michigan will finish this season with an 9-4 record (that includes the bowl loss). ASU, Wisconsin, Ohio State and the Alamo Bowl game probably against Nebraska or A&M will be the loses. Everyone in the planet will be developing a spread offense to beat up on Ron English's young defense (the lack of veteran leadership showed up last weekend). As a Michigan fan, it hurts to write this but I am realistic enough to know that going to Madison is tough and I believe it is a night game too (which never bolds well for the Maize and Blue). Tressels team puts in new wrinkles to stymie Carr and the Big 12 has been putting a hurt on the Wolverines since Carr has been the head coach (I believe he has only won two times against the Big 12). The Wolverines could be starting something I hoped that I would never see in my lifetime; a streak of near .500 in their victories/losses and the lack of a Big Ten title in their belts. Especially since next season, the offense will have to be rebuilt and Carr probably will not come back.

Well if Lloyd would have let Mike Hart play the whole game they'd still be undefeated
But yes I think they'll win out although they do play AT Michigan State, AT Wisconsin, and home vs Ohio State in consecutive weeks to end the season which will be tough, but I don't think they'll be underestimating any teams for the rest of the year. Also, like I said, as long as Lloyd doesn't take Mike Hart out of the game for a minor injury and his sophomore backup (where was Kevin Grady?) doesn't come in and lose a fumble and fall down in the backfield on a two point conversion....they'll be fine.

Many highly ranked schools start the season asleep on the field, especially, when they under rate their first opponent. App. St. was no push over, and a true wake up call. They could win out the rest of the season. but their ranking will not over come this set back.
We will have to wait and see if they get passed this slap down and rise to the occasion, or stay in the locker room with their heads between their knees.
I believe that now that they will be playing from behind, they will come to the field each time with their A game . Too late for the national championship, but not too late to recover their dignity.
My own alma mater team has similar problems. (VT) they come out half asleep in frog PJs , when they think it's going to be easy, get the "deer in the headlights" look , when they get psyched out, and if a clear under dog, pull out all the stops.
Coaching leads the way. (Or doesn't, as the case may be). Each game must come as it comes. Some coaches are great most of the time, but still drop the ball some of the time. A game does not make the season, but it may take you or keep you away from the best money making bowls.

Michigan will be 9-3. I dont think they get the win over Oregon or Wisconsin. Sorry Mich. fans nothing personal just my thought. As far as Michigan or other team not at their best in begining of the season that falls on the coach. And thats the difference between a National Title and a 10 or 11 win season, finding a way to win in the off weeks.

The one thing you have to consider is that even though Appalachian State in a 1-AA team, considered second-tier, they could probably beat a number of the 1-A teams, like Temple, Florida International, Buffalo, etc. Beating Michigan is a tremendous upset, and I was glad tro see it because i don't like Michigan. I believe this loss was a tremendous blow to the Wolverine's psyche.
That being said, Michigan may very well run the table the rest of the season, but I don't see it. They still have their arch-rival Ohio State in front of them, and Penn State wants to put an end to their losing streak against them.

im not a die hard michigan fan so im giving an unbiased opinion. i think michigan's gotta great team this year. i dont think they will lose another game this year. what people dont understand about app. state is that they are not a bad team. they are champions in their divison. and u should never underestimate the heart of a champion no matter who and where they play. a champion will rise up to the occasion. the loss hurts michigan a lot but these kind of adversities make a team stronger. so i think they will come back strong this week against oregon and win rest of their games

Its a possibility. variety no longer likely. If Michigan wins out and all the different communities above them have 2 or greater losses. i do no longer think of it is going to ensue. yet I do think of that Michigan will win the great 10.

Michigan has a great program. But, they will not win out the season. Wisconsin and OSU have better teams in the Big 10 conference.
Michigan had several chances to win that game last Saturday and App State stopped them. Big time teams and programs beat the lesser conference opponents.
App State did not show its poise after last Saturday's game in Ann Arbor.

Michigan will not win out this season. They will lose to Wisconsin on the road this year. Michigan will be 10-2 and finish 3rd in the Big Ten.
