I am considering going to Russia, soon with some friends. I am 19, a white American, and a female. Is it safe? And also, is it safe to go clubbing? My friends and I are big clubbers.

Honestly? No, Russians don't like Americans. However, the general idea of Russian superiority is central to Russian culture, and so Russians are understandably annoyed by citizens of any country that contends for a top place in the world economically or militarily. Additionally, unlike Americans, Russians are very concerned with things like social prestige, lineage, and the nobility (even figurative) of one's blood. As such, they see America as a country of upstarts, a recipient of "inferior" representatives of various nations who unfairly and undeservedly climbed over the shoulders of more deserving people to emerge at the top of the food chain. Moreover, ethnocentrism is a big problem in Russia -- even for whites. Many Russians are extremely concerned with purity of blood and consider people of mixed ethnic backgrounds to be inherently inferior or "muddied". In other words, that you are white is fine, but the fact that you are 1/8 Sicilian, 1/4 French, and 1/4 Irish may be disconcerting to many. These are the fundamentals. Everything else -- disagreement over Middle Eastern policies, the American obesity problem, etc. -- is purely incidental.

That said, however, the fact that Americans are disliked doesn't mean they are necessarily unwelcome. Certainly, the tourist money is welcome. I would just say avoid heartfelt political discourse (to the point of even telling people, if necessary, that you are not interested in discussing politics), do not engage in any conversations discussing the American culture (unless you are asked obviously innocuous, good-faith questions), and generally stick to neutral topics.

that is not any longer good. Russia as a rustic, and Russians as a rustic, want teenagers to circulate away the rustic and united states of america on, to have a clean technology waiting. It in basic terms desires the youth to enhance, succeed, to EXIST. If we provide our teenagers to human beings, our competitors, what are we doing to our very own united states of america and united states of america? fully destroying it, erasing it. Many different countries had to try this and have not succeeded, we don't pick to be those to do it to ourselves. we want and pick our teenagers. human beings can undertake american toddlers, they have finished orphanages, too. there is not any reason to undertake our teenagers. And that is plenty extra beneficial for the newborn to be raised in russian than american lifestyle.

It depends solely on your look and manners.
It is safe to go clubbing, just apply well-known measures: don't drink too much, don't use drugs, don't walk alone in the dark, carefully cross the roads, keep your wallet hidden, don't trust to the Gypsies and the Southerners (black-haired people aka "choorki"), and so on, and so forth.

If you are a nice person, why hate you? 8o)

If you choose a descent club with a descent entry fee, then you are going to be safe. If you go to a place for 100 rubles, then don't go for it. By the way, it is not that scary in Russia.

I hear they catch white american women for food. They eat them and throw the scraps to the Jewish people that still reside there. You should go to Veesay Lafayette instead.
