Okay, I already have HR experience (6yrs) fresh out of high school. Now I am about to pursue a AAS in Human Resources at Northwestern Business College? Do you think this is a good idea?

I live in Chicago. I too have seen people get passed by because they didn't have a degree.
(Ha,Ha, Ha... HR people are not evil). Wish me luck I start school tomorrow

I'm not familiar with the school, but if you could transfer to a 4-year college from there, I think it would be good for you. If not, then I'm not convinced that a terminal career diploma, particularly since you already have some work experience, would be terribly useful to you.

Absolutely it is a good idea. I've often seen employers pass up perfectly experienced people because they don't have a degree. Don't let a piece of paper be the thing that they hold you back on. Go, get that AAS, and be proud of yourself at the end.

Getting schooling in a field in which you have experience can also be of benefit to your immediate work environment. You'll learn the theory, and how other companies do things, and you may be able to apply some of that to your own company.

If you like it... yes! If you don't... still yes! You could also pursue social studies if that sounds more interesting and go for a graduate degree in HR later on. God, I hope you live in the US, because the advise above is mainly applicable there!

HR is an evil occupation practiced mostly by satan worshippers, junkies, and Eagles fans. I saw an HR guy kick a puppy then spit on his own grandmother once. Don't do it!
