1- It depends on which Safari you are running. If you are running OS 10.3.x; then you need to go to Tiger.
2- there aren't viruses for the mac unless you've discovered the first (congrats?) But reinstalling Safari isn't a bad idea if all else fails (but FYI- if you had a virus, it wouldn't be erased by uninstalling a program)
3- If you are running 10.4.x; check software updater, there might be a safari patch.
4- Its also possible that you need a plugin like flip4mac
(and I can run youtube on MY mac, which has 10.4.10, but I am running the Safari 3 beta)

If you're running Safari for Windows that is beta only - means still buggy pre-released version - Safari for Windows - will be released in mid-October

i can watch youtube videos on my safari browser...maybe you might have a virus on your browser. you should uninstall it then install it again. the problem should go away!
