*sigh* For the last time: thongs are not hygienic. They provide a path for bacteria in your anus to travel to your vagina, causing bacterial vaginosis. Also, they can on occasion cause yeast infections.

Granny panties are those beige big cotton knickers which come up to your stomach. I have no idea how this phrase came up but my grandmother used to wear them. I think it means it is old-fashioned or out-dated.
There's no need to wear floss, it's not like there's only 2 choices of underwear out there.

There are plenty of panty styles that don't fit into the "granny panties" category. They typically are cut lower and don't ride up over the stomach. I prefer those to thongs any day, which are very uncomfortable and get really nasty stains on them.

EDIT - What's wrong with going commando? It's really hot where I live! Thumbs down because I don't wear panties! Jeez people, get a life! If I didn't have to wear a bra, I wouldn't wear that either. I also don't like wearing shoes. So there!

granny panties are big panties that come up to your stomach. i don't know what the big deal is, i guess because they're not "sexually appealing" to men. thongs are proven to give women yeast infections... and they're still wearing them. i prefer granny panties any day!!
