These ppl are all lazy.......pawn moves one spot up except to kill and except at start where it moves 2......rook moves in a T......bishop in an X.......knight in an L (look that up)......queen in an X or T.....and King in any one space around himself........thats the basic...BUT there is more to it and this isnt enough to play a game....its close but read slightly more detail......try wikipedia

To be honest I learned with Battle chess, it shows you what moves you can make. Once you learn the moves each piece can make remember it is not how many piece you get of the other persons, but who gets the king. Just get online with yahoo games and I think that shows you the moves you are able to do with the pieces and chat with those people while you play. Some will be nice others will be mean.

U can not learn swimming unless u enter water.Reading how 2 swim is not going to help.Similarly, if u want to learn CHESS, start under the guidance of some one who can act yr GURU. A guru is one who can understand why, what and how u think yr moves. He shoud be able to position himself in yr shoes before guiding u.

no way your gonna learn to play chess on YA, nor is anyone gonna bother explaining it. its complicated, so get someone to teach you. there are really no majer tibs to give, its just strategy and knowing the rules....
