Yes that is common practice now for potential employers to do. That does not mean I agree with it, but "supposedly" it reflects the type of person someone is. Which in my mind doesnt since we all make and have made mistakes as far as our credit goes.
But yes its legal.

Yes! if it wasn't then they would not have done a credit check,
most company's will do a credit check when some one goes for a job, also when you go to a shop to buy something no credit they will also do a credit check, but you do have the right to know who they have done there credit check with, hopes she get the job.

yes it is legal. She is old enough to sign a binding contract, and have a credit check done. The real question: Did she consent to the credit check?

They can basically do any type of check they want as long as they dont discriminate.
