On earth it has always been 9.8 m/s^2
There are two ways to calculate it:
1) Fgrav = (m1*m2)/r^2
With Fgrav, you can calculate g
F = mg
Or....
2) g=-GM/(r*r),
Where G is the universal gravitational constant (6.67x10^-11 Nm^2/kg^2), M is the mass of the body, and g is the acceleration due to gravity.
The mass of the earth has increased by a very small amount (less than 1/10000th of one percent) over the last 250 million years due to things like asteroids hitting us, so g has actually increased an infinitesimally small amount, but the amount that g has increased is so small that it's got about zero effect on anything.

Well it depends on the mass of the Earth...
The greater the mass..so the gravity increases!!
The gravity is more at the equator than the north and the south pole..
So the force of gravity on the surface of the Earth has always been near 9.8m/s2â....

The force of gravity is determined by the Universal Gravitational Force, F=G[(m1*m2)/r^2], where G is the gravitational constant, m1 and m2 are the masses in question and r is the distance between the two masses. Since m1 is the mass of the Earth, which has been growing slowly since about 3.9 billion years ago, m2 is some insignificant mass on the surface of the Earth, and r is the radius of the Earth, which has been growing slowly since about 3.9 billion years ago, for all intents and purposes the force of gravity has not changed since before 3.9 billion years ago.

yes the force of gravity has changed it changes every year at about 1cm because it has been proven that the moon witch governs are gravity is moving away from us a small amount.
that's why people are getting taller less gravity. people in the middle ages were only about 4.5 feet average height and it has been predicted that in the future we will grow to 7 feet tall average.

Proven fact, every 10.000 years (c) the earth (gaya)
begins to reverse the polar axis,that's why (i think)
we are getting all this VERY strange stuff !.
